Basic Information

Description of the Organization and Responsibilities

A-DA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation founded in 1975. Our programs include services to youth at risk (ages 18-24), veteran employment training and placement, homeless veterans, and employment training and placement for persons living with disabilities. In 1990, A-DA first received national recognition from the J.M. Foundation’s “Search for Excellence” as a national leader in employment and training. In 2002, A-DA was one of only three organizations in the U.S. to receive President Bush’s Inaugural New Freedom Initiative Award for our exceptional contributions in advancing individuals with disabilities in the workplace through Assistive Technology. Our workforce programs have provided countywide job training and placement to more than 11,200 low-income youth and adults with disabilities and other significant barriers. We have opportunities for youth outreach and mentor outreach for our youth programs as well as opportunities in our veteran and employment programs.
